Maree
Hi - Please see a question from my customer regarding setting ranges manually with banded colouring - Can you help? Quick question: when I use "banded colouring" on density plots and want to set the ranges manually. I know that it sets limits to the ranges, but what exactly does setting the values do to the data? Ernie
Hi Maree, Changing the ranges changes the thresholds that the density/contour algorithm uses to determine the number of bins to color. I would explain it in more detail except we are changing the algorithm in v1.3 to a "% of events" approach. That will mean that if you set the lowest color to blue and the lowest threshold to 20, then 20% of the events on the plot will be colored blue. This will change the appearance of your plots somewhat, but is easier to understand, more meaningful, and lays the groundwork for features in future versions such as "5% contours". Version 1.3 is completing testing now and should be available by the end of January. Ernie
